creates limited edition artist’s books, cards, and custom bindings. I incorporate digital photography, silk screen and hand painted backgrounds into the books, cards and invitations.
The definition of an artist’s book is a subject of much discussion in the book / art world. My definition of an artist’s book is one that combines both the content and the binding to communicate a single theme / concept. These can be created by one person or done as collaboration with two or more artists. An artist book can communicate solely with words or images, or use some combination of the two. They can use a traditional book form or be hardly recognizable as a book. They may push the limits of “bookness” or be the ultimate in a fine book edition. I find both ends of the spectrum of artist books addictive to both the creator and the collector.
for custom invitations and books are very project specific. The choice of paper and number of ink colors for letterpress as well as the quantity needed affect the price. A one color suite with invitation, reply card, reply envelope, and outer envelopes start at $728 for 100 sets. Contact me for a quote for your project.
Book covering materials, binding style and size influence the price. The amount of repair needed on a rebinding also affects the price. I would love to talk with you about your project and budget.
